Irrespective of a weapon being a military shotgun, carbine, rifle or pistol, anyone paying blue book price for a used weapon isn't shopping smart. Hit gun shows, ask neighbors who are hunters and go to garage sales. The moment you see OD or Khaki at a garage sale ask the seller if they have anything else for sale and it'll surprise you what you'll find. My local welding shop even had a collection of military "junk" sitting on the sidewalk last week, WWI helmet, ammo cans and belted dummy rounds that they'd collected over the years for scrap.
Also any shop selling used anything will listen to offers so don't be shy and try to talk them down.
