kes Farm Living History AAR I arrived there at 1900 and set up a shelter, the setting up of the shelter took till 2045. Charles arrived at approximately 2100 and I helped him unpack. Me, him, and his father went to a pub just inside Gettysburg. After eating, we returned to camp and talked till approximately 0100 then we went to sleep. We slept with 1 wool blanket as a ground sheet and another functioning as a blanket. Then night was bitterly cold. Charles woke me up at approximately 0600. After waking up we proceeded to authenticate the camp and ourselves. During this period we had breakfast with the 101st Airborne (recreated) and made an attempt at making coffee. The public showed up at about 1000. During the day it proceeded to get hot enough to where we stripped down to our wool shirts. Notable people we met on this day were Frosty, Tom, a 90th ID Vet, Charles Father, My Mother, Hardcore 1st ID reenactors, and a Fighter Pilot reenactor. We consumed during the day a can of, Tangerines, cheese, bread, pears, carrots, salami, and apple cider. We also played baseball. Later as the public left Paul came. Once Paul came we enlisted him into our unit and proceed to take pictures of us, which became the “The Barn and Buildings” action and will be covered in its own AAR. After we came back to camp we proceeded to a restraint where we ate and talked. After returning to camp we proceeded to put everything in the shelter half. We then prepared our sleeping place. We placed a shelter half on the ground, then we wrapped ourselves in wool blankets, the pulled a shelter half over us. We went to sleep after having a small encounter with the 103rd ID (reenacted). We woke up at 0600 Sunday morning. We made a more successful attempt at making coffee. We started to pack up at about 0900 and were finished by 1020. We were adopted by the 29th ID (reenacted) at about 1100. We stayed with them till 1240 when Frosty took pictures of us, which resulted in the ”Riverbed” action, which will be covered in its own separate AAR. At about 1300 we left to do some shopping in town and by 1500 we were finished.
Signed, Sgt. Joshua M. Kerner Acting NCO
