Well thanks. You know the guy who is really tall in that trailer? thats me ;D Lil beav I take it you haven't seen the movie. Jimmy Stewart was indeed the real hero of the movie and did shoot Liberty. I wasn't sure if it was lighting issues or intentional but it really came out for the best. You look like a short 25 year old and not a growing boy in those pictures. And the back shot will keep even the most hard core bullet burner from telling you to get dirty...yeah I'm talking about you Finster...I've seen Finster complain mud wasn't dirty enough. One thing, I'm relatively sure (sorry I don't do 90th and I'm too tired to surf it) that the year is 44 but under date you have no year. From a 90th point of view it's common knowlege what year but for other units it might not...yeah Finster this time I'm talking about me. I also like your title, tester is a great solution for informing others it's a work in process and saying your open to suggestions. Just be advised as a modrator of this forum that when you post it on the big board I'm cutting pasting and modifying my first response if I can't come up with a funnier joke. Jim

Well thank you. I am testing on this Forum and I will tweak, not my photos but the "situation" and "photos" No I have not see THAT John Wayne movie, but he is one of my favorite actors after Carry Grant. Also about my grim. I use a mixture of ash dirt and coffee grounds. Then I mix with water and apply everywhere. I have to say this one really came our well. Also do you notice me o from semi clean to grimy?

I guess rolling around on the ground would just get asphalt and concrete dust on the uniform so the coffee grounds are a good substitute. You could have always fallen down while on KP.
The more photos of period 90th you can post showing what and why you have gear hanging where really helps keep the students studying the impression learn and keeps the <<cough, cough>> experts at bay.
True story...long winded Barrelhunter tale.
I borrowed an impression from my SCA group to go to a formal dinner, as my impressions are best suited for the battlefield. A stitch nazi came over and totally destroyed my tunic and the stitch nazis standing around her just burst out laughing. Mind you, I was in my twenties at the time. Anyway, it turns out that the tunic I was wearing was a dress she had made herself and not only did it fit me like a mans tunic for height and chest but she had hand spun the thread, hand woven and dyed the fabric and hand crocheted the trim. The "unconstructed trousers" I was wearing were silk pajama bottoms I'd bought at K-Mart and those she liked.

great story Jim. As far as Gear where I feel that is is a personal thing if I wear my canteen on the right or left.

I'm left handed so when wearing one canteen it goes on the right. The same goes for the map case so I don't think that's so much of an issue. Keeping the waist area free of obstructions for the butt of your rifle is something to seriously consider with the canteen though.
Wearing a shovel strapped to your ankle would cause a discussion. I guess you'd have to have been at the formation when I fell out wearing 4 shovels and carrying a pick mattock after digging 4 foxholes and a grease pit for our mess unit to appreciate that though.

You might want to re-title that Post Battle. The absence of LBE and use of cameras suggest it's occupation of the city.

I'd suggest getting larger versions of those photos or enlarging then digitaly to aid those with small screens. I agree for that battle and with those weather variables rolled up sleeves are appropriate but were talking mid August in the Northern Med so don't do it for a Bulge event.

I'm not that big a techno nerd...I'm hoping the other nerds can chip in. I usually use Microsoft Picture Manager but explaining it is beyond my ability.

You see the real problem is that these photos have been cut out of montages which makes them all distorted. What ever I will try.
