For sale:
Size 38R Melton Wool Overcoat made by Barrymore Clothes Dated 5/10/1945, PQMD (32 oz. Melton Wool)
this is the standard GI issue long wool overcoat.I believe these were used from 1938 through WWII, i think even into Korea in rare cases. Has the "later" plastic buttons. Very good / excellent condition, no mothing or damage. I got it at a yard sale from an AAF vet's wife, along with another overcoat that had been cut shorter, so i think the guy must have gotten two overcoats and only used the short one. It appears from examining inside the sleeves to have once had an AAF patch and likely Corporal stripes sewn on, though you can't tell from the outside. i really hate to part with this, but i can't bring myself to wear it (i wear the short one, haha) and it's just been hanging in my closet for years. i need some spending money and would like to see it go to a good home where it can be displayed or worn as it was intended.
You can't find a nicer overcoat than this! This would look great in your locker, or as part of your "battle of the bulge" outfit.
Asking $60, shipping included (it's bulky and rather heavy). Personal or bank checks only please. Will consider reasonable offers. You can PM me, but email is checked more often at "matthewandjodi06 AT yahoo.com" If it doesn't sell here, i'll take it to the "big board" i guess. You guys get first crack though. thanks for looking!
