Thats not fair... How can you put a limit on firepower..?? LOL ;D If we're talking small arms and NOT heavy weapons.....then the U.S. Rifle Caliber .30 M1 would be my whole hearted choice.... Kind Regards, THE GREY BONNET

I'm with rifle the BAR is a beast. Fully automatic, knockdown power, and above all suprisingly accurate. In the PTO some marines on the canal used it as a sniper rifle. But if I couldn't have that M1928 Thompson SMG with 50 rd drum or M1897 trench shotgun.

ty, man, you gotta give some sort of scenario to guide our choice... MTO, ETO, PTO, CBI? straight infantry or any role? who/what kinda targets are we up against? lol overall, though it'd be one of the last on the list i'd personally get right now, i'd go for the M1 rifle for the broadest spectrum of scenarios, though each of the others has its merits (or even a distinct advantage) in specialized shootout situations and depending on the ratio of time spent carrying it versus time anticipated needing it. BAR rocks but is heavy as heck and burns through ammo pretty fast, even with buddies carrying mags for you. M1903 is sweet for the ever-vaunted headshots glorified in the movies, but try racking the bolt over and over while a ticked-off kraut with an assault rifle is really interested in you. Thompson has the great .45 ACP round, but heavy.
anyway, i voted for the M1911A1. sorry guys, it's my new toy
