Stay away!!!!!!! from them they look like nice boots at first because they are the closest to the originals without payin a bunch for repro or original. They never soften out, they stay hard even with treatments it dosnt work. Just save your pennies and get a good pair of repro's

I plan on getting a pair of them. I'm still growing, so I don't want to pay $100+ for a pair of repops. Plus, if you wear leggings with them (I like leggings ;D )they don't look that bad.

"They don't look that bad" if your buddy asks you to go out with his girlfriends friend, and you ask your buddy what does she look like...and your buddy says to you "she don't look that bad" RUN AWAY SCREAMING.... hahahahahaha...... I know, I don't care for the look of the Frenchies, BUT since I just bought a Springfield, I am short on money. And my mom isn't to crazy about me spending $30 on a pair of boots, so there is no way she would let me get a pair for $75. I plan on wearing them with leggings most of the time, and I'm gunna darken them up with water proofing stuff, and if I figure out how to do it, grind the soles down a bit. The boots are the only thing I am being cheep on. 99% of the rest of my kit is original (as correct as you can get!) just have repop, jeep cap, HBT cap, pick, cartridge belt. (I have a full inpression short of a tent half, and HBT Trousers) And as soon as my feet stop growing, I'm going to get a good set of repops. Thank you for your concern, Tyler

Tyler-
I really urge you to not even waste the $30+shipping = $40+ on the french boots. Then you have to waste your time trying to make them look right, and justify them to all your buddies. the $40+ and time you'll have into the French boots is half the way to a pair of the Sturm boots from Old Paratrooper.
Congrats on the 03. They're fun rifles. You should enjoy yours.
When is your next event that you will need the boots by? Does your unit have loaner boots that you can wear while you save up for the decent boots?
Dave is 110% right. You may want to get all the stuff as soon as possible, and may cut some corners to get there - but it'll only cost more money in the end. Most of us wasted money on stuff and dont want our buddies to make the same mistakes we have.
Chris

I'm buying them from a guy in my unit, so the is no S&H, the unit is fine with new guys useing frenchies. My next event is in April. Like I said, I don't care for the look of the frenchies, but that is what my buget and my mom limit me to.

Just save your pennies and get a good pair of repro's Duane You forgot to mention that the French boots spent time in Vietnam and Africa. Even if only inventoried on a shelf they've got diseases too bad to discuss in the most raunchy VD film. First the Tineus goes between your toes, then the crotch and finally your rump. You'll be using foot spray, jock spray and preperation H before you get to the event. If you guys buy boots from outside the US and especially used boots spray down the insides. Jim
