Yea I understand. I guess I will just have to go on the expensive side because I don't have a car to be running around to thrift stores and the Salvation Army. Oh well. One question how different are the post-war wool blankets from the WWII kind? Thanks ~cottonbaler

Cotton
Color variation and content. The rule of thumb is yellowish green is WWII, Green is post war. If you can't say yellow first it's probably modern and not WWI.
Also don't be fooled by on line Army surplus stores saying "looks like WWII". They don't and they're foreign surplus.

Tom,
I can do $28 for 2 plus shipping.. I'm given ya the best deal I can.. These are gettin harder to find. Jim's right about Pendletons.. Mine was $350 and is a 4 plu and that was 10 years ago. I got a heck of a deal on it when I got it.. I got one of those funky WW2 look alikes too.. It's really warm and more fuzzy.. Like reprocessed wool blankets..Best things about it is the color and the warmth..It was cheap too.. But I wouldn't sell it to a reenactor.. It's not good enough for WW2.. Works for the car tho. I don't charge much for a mark up so you guys get a better deal.. The big mark ups come on my e bay sales.. You guys(reenactors) get first dibs before I toss it on auction at a mark up..Keep in mind tho, The more you buy, the better deals I give.. Sometimes, I toss in something cheaper for free when the orders are big. Ask some of the Nam guys.. A couple of them got over $100 in 2 orders and got a big discount.

What do you think you could do for a: -M1915 Mills cartridge belt -M1910 Mess kit -M1910 Canteen Cup -Toiletry Kit Bag(hopefully early war or pre war date) -P1912 Carlisle Bandage Pouch
What would be the best price for each individual item? Thank You

He's been viewing too many Friscan threads and wants a doughboy helmet. Yah gotta go old school for that.

I'm putting together a 1942 Guadalcanal impression.
Already have: Fixed Bale Repro Hawley Early War Shelter Half Early War Poncho Early war P41 1913 dated 1903 springfield...
I basically have everything I need for the impression except for the before mentioned items.
This impression is almost finished. I think I'll post pics when it starts to get warm enough again to do a Marine Impression

Tom,
I'll have to weigh a couple of 'em and let ya know..
Josh,
I got another gun show this weekend..I'll price it for ya..
Just got power back today after Ike's death throws took most of the area out sunday..Got several E Bay sales and store sales to get shipped.. Not to mention, gotta kill something on a PS2 game to take out my frustrations of watching the AEP trucks goof off for 4 days after making sure the mayor around the corner had his power restored within hours..Hmmm Ironically, his name is Ike too..

Glad to hear you weathered it to.
The M1910 cup I would like would be the WW1 aluminum one.

It's that damned Friscan and his December 8th, 1941 impression suckering in these impressionable kids. Now Josh wants to march his red hair in a St. Patty's day parade with a doughboy helmet. You might want to hoard up cause you know Beaver and lil Beav will play follow the leader.

Josh,
These are what I saw today at the gun show..This is no mark up, out the door prices they had.. By no means set in stone or good, but this will give ya a general idea. These are for good, useable pieces, not rotten.
-M1915 Mills cartridge belt-$125 -M1910 Mess kit-$25 -M1910 Canteen Cup-$12
-Toiletry Kit Bag(hopefully early war or pre war date)- not sure what this is.. Is it like the WW2 one the ARC made and sent to the troops?
-P1912 Carlisle Bandage Pouch- Not familiar with this either.. The 2 snap front version? I know of the 1910 pattern with 2 snaps.. Don't forget the M1924 version was usable for your impression too.. I have a 41 dated one of those in very usable condition..

I'll try and get the money soon for the Mills belt. Yeah like the ARC rolls thats all I need, I have all the stuff already so I just need the roll. Forget about the P1912 pouch, they near impossible to find, a from what I can tell a rare item, but for future reference here is a link to a exact repro: www.schipperfabrik.com/usmc_gear.html-Josh
