Josh
Can you document they aren't sewing machine opperators or MP's? Owing to the fact there are 25 people in the photo with a Lieutenant I'm thinking it's a section and not a platoon, meaning they're more then likely Engineers.
There are three names which should start a good search of web sites.

-Pfc Robert C Ramsey 504th PIR Co HQ 3rd Bn Bronze Star
-Pfc James T Ferguson 504th PIR Co HQ 3rd Bn
These guys were members of the HQ company.
Correct me if I'm wrong I thought the Riggers, MPs, and Engineers were under Division not Regiment. in my previous post I said these guys were 504th.

I guess the rifle has to go and you'll be going into battle with the .45 and a typewriter. Edit: Don't think I'm coming down hard on you, I think your photo's are fantastic. Just so far you haven't identified the Battalion, Company and Platoon or your duty position. We also haven't identified what type section the original picture is, which could be anything from 4.2" Chemical Mortar, Motor Maintenance, Commo or heavy weapons. It could also be an Arty Battery temporarily attached to the Regiment for a specific objective. Jim
